Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems within the audio space.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with audio systems, bringup, optimization, tuning and productionization.
- Embedded development with experience around engineering power, latency, and performance trade-offs.
- Experience with leading technical projects, cross-functional collaboration, and debugging/troubleshooting to progress programs forward.
- Experience with Audio Codecs or Audio HAL.

At Pixel we are developing innovative hardware products that push the boundaries of computing. As an Audio Systems Lead, you will drive new products to launch by architecting audio systems, implementing key components, and designing sub-components for delegation. You will lead overall development of the audio platform, collaborating with operating system (OS)-level engineers to enable next-generation experiences and SoC partners to deliver hardware abstraction layer (HAL) implementations, debug, and root-cause issues.
You will ultimately be responsible for delivering the audio platform to enable new device launches.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
