Robotics, AI Engineer (Applied/Software), Machine Learning/ ML Engineer, Software Engineer
Dream Robotics is building general-purpose robots that can perform useful work in businesses and homes. We are customer-centered, while also building core robotics technology: multimodal sensing, scalable data collection systems, robot learning infrastructure, and cost-effective mobile robots designed for real deployment.
We are looking for undergraduates and new grads studying robotics, computer science, AI, or who have developed strong robotics and software experience through projects, research, clubs, or independent work.
This role is for someone who loves robotics and wants to work on systems that leave the lab. You should get excited about seeing software you wrote run on a real robot, debugging it when it fails, and watching it eventually perform useful work for real people.
You do not need to already be an expert in robot learning or model architecture. We care more about strong programming fundamentals, curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and enthusiasm for building real robotic systems.

What you’ll work onDepending on your background and interests, projects may include:
- Building labeling and data-processing pipelines for robot learning datasets
- Developing pipelines for hand pose estimation, activity classification, and other perception tasks
- Building fleet telemetry, observability systems, dashboards, and tools for understanding robot behavior
- Developing teleoperation software and interfaces for controlling and collecting data from robots
- Writing robot control software, including lower-level control and motion execution code
- Building model evaluation, verification, regression testing, and failure-analysis tools
- Developing simulation environments and evaluation infrastructure
- Working on reinforcement learning or imitation learning systems
- Processing robot demonstrations, video, sensor data, and robot logs
- Building software for data collection, dataset curation, and experiment management
- Debugging networking, sensors, cameras, actuators, drivers, and robot software
- Improving software infrastructure used to deploy and operate robots in the real world
You will work closely with our robotics and AI team and will have opportunities to own meaningful projects that become part of our production robotics stack.
What we’re looking for- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or completed undergraduate degree in computer science, robotics, AI, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong programming ability, especially in Python
- Experience with C++, Rust, or another systems language is helpful
- Comfort using Linux and working from the command line
- Experience building software projects beyond class assignments
- Interest in robotics, machine learning, computer vision,…
