Chisholm Enterprises is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the business in the Kingdom of Bahrain. With international operations and an expanding aviation platform, this is an opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen financial performance and contribute to the continued development of a dynamic cargo and aviation group.
The opportunityThe CFO will provide strategic and commercial financial leadership, working collaboratively with senior leaders to translate business priorities into clear financial plans and informed decisions. The role will support expansion, investment, fleet and asset initiatives, strong governance, operational performance and sustainable business growth.
Key responsibilities- Lead the financial strategy, annual business planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
- Prepare and present financial and commercial recommendations to the Executive Team and Board, supporting strategic decision-making, investment opportunities and long-term business planning.
- Lead the treasury, funding and cash management activities, ensuring financial stability and liquidity to support current operations and future growth.
- Strengthen corporate governance, internal controls, statutory reporting and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support aircraft financing, leasing arrangements, acquisitions, insurance programmes and major commercial negotiations.
- Partner with operational and departmental leaders to improve reporting, cost management, revenue opportunities and business performance.
- Lead, mentor and develop a capable finance team, fostering a positive, proactive, accountable and collaborative culture and ensuring the function effectively supports the strategic objectives of the Group.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, management information, governance frameworks, business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification.
- Significant experience as a CFO, Finance Director or senior executive finance leader within a multifaceted organisation.
- Proven experience in financial strategy, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance management.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess opportunities, manage risk and convert strategy into practical action.
- Demonstrated experience in treasury, cash flow management, funding, capital structures and relationships with banks or financial institutions.
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance, internal controls, statutory obligations and international accounting standards.
- Experience with in aviation, logistics, transportation, infrastructure or another asset-intensive sector would be highly desirable.
- Experience of aircraft financing, leasing, business expansion, acquisitions or major capital investment would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams while working collaboratively across functions.
- Excellent communication, presenting, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, with credibility at executive and board level.
- Strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Comfort operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial and internationally focused environment, with a willingness to travel when required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, digital transformation or technology-enabled finance improvement would be beneficial.
- Strategic and commercially focused, while remaining willing to be hands-on when the business requires it.
