Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Coordinator:
- Process full-cycle payroll and ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Review and audit timesheets, payroll records, and employee pay data.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings and payments.
- Reconcile payroll liabilities, benefits, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, benefit reconciliation issues, and other payroll-related challenges.
- Prepare journal entries and payroll-related financial reporting.
- Assist with payroll system conversion activities and process documentation.
- Support special projects and process improvements within the finance department.
Qualifications for the Payroll Coordinator:
- 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience.
- Prior payroll experience in a government or municipal environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Washington State payroll regulations, taxes, deductions, and reporting requirements preferred.
- Experience managing monthly and quarterly payroll tax filings and reconciliations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issues.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience with Eden software and/or Central Square Finance Enterprise is a plus.
