In this role, you'll do more than just process payroll. You'll contribute to accounting operations, support budgeting and position control functions, and play a key role in maintaining compliance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities For The Payroll And Accounting Coordinator Role- Process biweekly payroll, including timesheet review, direct deposits, manual checks, deductions, garnishments, and benefit payments.
- Maintain payroll records, tax filings, W-2 reporting, payroll reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and update payroll system configurations, including leave plans, schedules, earnings codes, and reporting structures.
- Assist with budgeting, position control, payroll analysis, and resolution of employee payroll questions and discrepancies.
- 2+ years of payroll experience with strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
- Union payroll experience highly desirable, including experience interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements, union dues administration, contract pay provisions, and related payroll compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with payroll systems, accounting software, and Excel.
