Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Serves as Quality Engineer on Karman Space & Defense projects throughout design, development, testing, qualification, and production. Supports the Quality Director in QMS management. Reports to the Quality Director.

• Determine and execute quality plan for system projects through development and production.
• Implement new quality inspection methodologies as required.
• Support customer design review activities.
• Perform in‑process inspections during fabrication and assembly, including AS9102 First Articles.
• Prepare Technical Data Packages (TDPs) documenting hardware deliverables.
• Review Purchase Orders for accuracy, including proper contractual, project and quality flowdowns.
• Generate and resolve Corrective Action Reports (CAR) and Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR).
• Lead failure investigations.
• Perform supply chain risk analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, and hold or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.
