Composite Technician
The Composite Technician I is responsible for manufacturing advanced aerospace components using composite materials such as carbon fiber and prepregs. The role focuses on hand layup, tooling preparation, and finishing processes while adhering to detailed engineering instructions and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform hand layup and filament winding of composite materials on molds and tooling per specifications.
- Prepare tools, molds, and surfaces for composite layup processes.
- Apply prepreg composite materials using various layup techniques.
- Conduct vacuum bagging and curing processes, including room temperature, oven, and autoclave curing.
- Trim, cut, and finish composite parts to precise dimensions.
- Inspect parts for defects, such as foreign object debris (FOD), before processing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions.
- Use measurement tools and instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Handle chemicals, adhesives, and solvents safely.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.
- Assist with shop maintenance, cleanup, and organization.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic experience with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Understanding of safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ year experience in a technical or construction-related field.
- Familiarity with composite materials or aerospace manufacturing.

Work Environment
This position operates on a 1st shift from 5am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday and a 2nd shift from 3pm-1:30am Monday through Thursday. The role requires adherence to ITAR regulations and involves hands-on work with composite materials. Safety is a priority, and the environment is structured around strict safety standards and quality procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
