Assistant Facility Security Officer

SUMMARY

The Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports and backs up the Facility Security Officer in managing the company’s Industrial Security Program, ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117) and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements. The AFSO assists in safeguarding classified information, administering security procedures, and fulfilling communications security (COMSEC) and insider threat program duties.

The AFSO serves as a backup to FSO in all duties, assuming lead in absence of FSO. Reports to the FSO.

Industrial Security Program - NISP Compliance:

• Maintains site facility clearance, including annual self-inspection
• Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for personnel
• Processes visit requests and new employee security clearances. Tracks security clearance investigations
• Processes and maintains DD254s
• Performs duties required by Insider Threat Program
• Responsible for receipt, storage and transmittal, and inventory, of all classified materials
• Manages associated equipment, including safes, Open Storage Area, restricted areas, and COMSEC equipment

Physical Security:

• Issues personnel and visitor access cards
• Maintains inventory of personnel authorized to access access-controlled areas
• Responsible for operability of physical security devices including locks, camera systems, access control systems, etc.
• Monitors physical security and promptly resolves any issues in conjunction with the Facilities department

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field is strongly preferred.
• Required Certification:
  • DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certification, or ability to complete immediately upon hire
  • Insider Threat Program training certification, or ability to complete immediately upon hire
• Experience:
  
  Entry level, preferred prior experience with Industrial Security Program.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain Secret/Top Secret clearances.
