About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Roto & Paint Artist with strong experience in high-end VFX workflows. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling both roto and paint tasks, including complex mattes, cleanup, marker removal, beauty work, face work, and plate restoration. This role is especially suited for artists who have worked on de-aging, face replacement, digital doubles, facial cleanup, lip-sync, or actor performance enhancement shots.
Responsibilities
Create accurate rotoscopy mattes for characters, faces, hair, props, clothing, and complex moving elements.
Perform high-quality paint and cleanup work on live-action footage.
Execute marker removal, wire removal, rig removal, reflection cleanup, object removal, and beauty cleanup.
Work on facial shots involving de-aging, face replacement, lip-sync correction, digital doubles, and actor enhancement.
Maintain facial detail, skin texture, stubble, wrinkles, hair edges, and image continuity across shots.
Deliver production-ready work while maintaining quality, consistency, and deadlines.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience as a Roto Artist, Paint Artist, or hybrid Roto/Paint Artist in a VFX studio.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Silhouette, Nuke, Photoshop, or equivalent roto/paint tools.
Strong understanding of motion, perspective, parallax, motion blur, hair edges, transparency, and reflections.
Experience in cleanup, beauty work, plate restoration, object removal, and detail preservation.
Experience working on face-heavy shots such as de-aging, face replacement, digital doubles, or lip-sync work.
Good understanding of tracking workflows, including planar tracking, object tracking, and facial tracking.
Ability to work with high-resolution footage and maintain clean, realistic image quality.
Strong eye for detail, continuity, and natural-looking results.
Preferred Skills
Experience working on feature films, OTT projects, commercials, or high-end VFX projects.
Exposure to digital human, face replacement, de-aging, or AI-assisted VFX workflows.
Basic understanding of compositing pipelines in Nuke.
Familiarity with mesh tracking, matchmove, facial reconstruction, and 3D-assisted paint workflows.
Understanding of photogrammetry, facial scans, or digital double pipelines is a plus.
