Manager - Graphic Design

Role Overview :  The Design Manager for the Nykaa will oversee the design aspects of the Nykaa e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and user-friendly shopping experience. This role involves managing a team of designers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining high standards of visual and interaction design.

Role Description :

1. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, graphic designers, and other design professionals.
- Foster a creative and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings, reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

2. Design Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement design strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
- Ensure the design team produces high-quality, on-brand design solutions.
- Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups.

3. Brand Consistency, Visual Identity & Rebranding
- Brand Guidelines Implementation:
Implement and update brand guidelines to establish a cohesive and modern visual identity.
- Visual Identity Creation:
Design consistent brand elements, including logos, fonts, and color schemes, tailored to the fashion and beauty segments.
- Rebranding Projects:
Lead the creative direction for rebranding initiatives, ensuring alignment with the brand's values and vision.

4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with product managers, developers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design meets user needs and business goals.
- Present design concepts and solutions to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure clear communication and documentation of design decisions and guidelines.

5. User Experience and Interface Design:
- Ensure the user experience is intuitive, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing across all digital touchpoints.
- Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to refine and improve designs.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices.

6. Project Management:
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor the progress of design projects.
- Resolve any issues that may arise during the design process.

7. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all design output is consistent with Nykaa’s brand guidelines and quality standards.
- Conduct regular design reviews and audits.
- Maintain design documentation and assets for future reference and use.

Knowledge and Skill / Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
8-10 years of experience in design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in web and mobile design.
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and prototyping tools like InVision or Marvel.
Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in the Beauty/fashion e-commerce industry.
