Job Overview

Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a client in Muncie, IN in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing team! This is a full‑time, direct‑hire, salaried position that will be working onsite in Muncie.

• Process accounts payable invoices for vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Review and match invoices, receipts, subcontract agreements, and construction documentation for payment approval.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors while serving as the primary point of contact for payment inquiries.
• Pay vendor invoices through checks, ACH payments, wire transfers, and company credit cards.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, missing documentation, and payment issues.
• Ensure discounts, retainage, tax exemptions, and contractual terms are properly applied to invoices.
• Manage payment schedules according to vendor agreements and subcontractor payment terms.
• Maintain accurate financial records and organized supporting documentation for audits and project files.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Track project expenses and support accurate job cost allocation within the accounting system.
• Analyze accounts payable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and reports.

Salary range for this role is disclosed in the posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
