About this opportunity: The Department of Special Education welcomes applications for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant. The assistant will support a faculty member by providing technological, editorial, and administrative support using technologies related to visual impairment.

What you’ll do and what you’ll bring:Position Function: Provide administrative support to the faculty member in accomplishing their teaching, scholarly, and service goals by providing technological, research, editorial, and administrative support using technologies related to visual impairment.
Duties/Responsibilities- Assist with the submission of assignment grading, provide administrative support with the development of course curricula, and complete tasks in Canvas.
- Transfer documents into accessible formats for the faculty member to review.
- Coordinate and assist with the preparation of e-mails, documents, grants, reports, fliers, presentations, and publications. Edit and proofread documents.
- Assist with research projects; coordinate, organize, prepare documents, and perform related tasks.
- Coordinate and support meeting and conference participation; schedule, transcribe, prepare media technology, and assist with activities.
- Oversee the maintenance of documents and files.
- Navigate, search, and download articles from library databases; on behalf of the faculty member submit files to conference and manuscript portals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Associate's degree or an additional two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of an associate's degree.
- One year of related experience.
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn current and emergent technologies related to visual impairment, possess a strong command of the English language and use of APA style grammar guidelines, and the ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to follow directions, problem solve, manage time effectively, prioritize activities based on deadlines, accept feedback, work independently, adjust to change, and multi-task.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment and technology, such as:
Duxbury Braille Translator software, Braille Note Touch Plus, and/or Swell Form Graphics Machine. - Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn current and emergent technologies related to visual impairment, possess a strong command of the English language and use of APA style grammar guidelines, and the ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications.
