Job Summary
The district Administrative Assistant-Assistant Sr. role is responsible for performing administrative support duties within the assigned area. Responsibilities are specific to the organizational unit (i.e. region, district, department, plant, etc.)
What you’ll do:- Under immediate supervision, perform basic, routine administrative duties following well defined, standard procedures.
- Assist with document processing, compiling special reports, requesting information from other areas, filing and retrieval of information in both hard copy and electronic formats.
- Answer telephone, take messages, communicate via electronic mail and receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Use keyboard to enter data and perform calculations or retrieve information.
- Operate a wide variety of electronic and mechanical office equipment.
- Listen to and understand written and verbal instruction.
- Communicate effectively with co‑workers and other employees and/or customers outside work area.
- Answer phone calls clearly and with a friendly, helpful tone and record messages accurately.
- Work effectively and productively with others.
- Actively help others with assignments to maintain department productivity.
- Answer customer questions but know when to refer questions or issues to others.
- Actively learn the function of the department and each employee responsibility to assist customers more effectively.
- Exhibit concern and sensitivity to others.
- Apply basic education and training in job responsibilities and assignments.
- Ask questions when unsure of how to handle an assignment and demonstrate initiative to handle assignments beyond the basic, routine level.
SG03 Administrative Assistant
- Education:
High school or GED. - Work Experience:
Six‑nine months of post‑high school experience in learning and utilizing administrative office procedures, practices and equipment (i.e. business English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, letter writing, telephone technique). Desirable. - Skills:
Organization of data and processes and effective communication, orally and in writing; good analytical and problem‑solving skills; proficiency with computers and office‑oriented software products.
- Education:
High school graduate or GED. - Work Experience:
3–4 years of related experience in utilizing administrative office procedures, practices and equipment; experience in varied business situations or circumstances that develop confidentiality, maturity, discretion, personal tact, judgment and initiative. - Skills:
Organization of data and processes and effective communication, orally and in writing; good analytical and problem‑solving skills; proficiency with computers and office‑oriented software products.
- SG03 pay starting between $22.14/hour and $27.68/hour.
- SG04 pay starting between $26.00/hour and $32.49/hour.
