Job Description
  • Establish & define the categories under management, with emphasis on key cost structures and potential risks.
  • Establish the direction for the unit in alignment with the corporate vision. For example, if the corporate vision is to support local business to develop the local economy, the incumbent need to create a vision / concept to work with suppliers / vendors within close proximity.
  • Align and prioritise the objectives of the unit to ensure that each category management target is met, using SMART principles.
  • Provide insights of the overall category under management market / industry to determine / forecast price trends / movements for effective procurement decision making.
  • Develop and manage a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) or Service Level Agreements (SLA) which can then be monitored to evaluate supplier' performance.
  • Perform continuous improvement of each category, to ensure its relevance, based on criticality of the category in keeping with the overall corporate vision and cost competitiveness.
  • Foster trust / partners relationships with internal stakeholders for consistent support and vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or related field.
  • Proficiency with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Up to 12 years working experience. Expertise in procurement processes, category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier management.
  • Strong ability to analyze market trends, price movements, and industry data to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Skilled in managing procurement budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and developing cost-effective strategies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate sustainability goals and initiatives.
  • Excellent ability to negotiate with suppliers and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience in the palm oil industry is an added advantage.
