This position is based in Muncie, Indiana
, supporting one of BGI's clients on a specialized energy project. The EHS Manager will serve as a full-time, dedicated safety resource and work closely with site leadership, contractor representatives, and project personnel to implement and administer the approved Environmental, Safety, and Health Project Plan. The EHS Manager will promote a fair, reporting, and learning culture, ensure compliance with EHS standards, and develop practical solutions to protect the health and safety of workers in the field.
This role requires the EHS Manager to become familiar with the work being performed by field personnel and provide hands-on safety support throughout project operations. This position requires complete dedication to the project, with EHS responsibilities serving as the individual's primary function. The EHS Manager will lead site safety and compliance initiatives, support employees, contractors, subcontractors, and visitors, and regularly conduct field walks and tower climbs to identify hazards, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with site policies, procedures, and technical work instructions.

- Prioritize and conduct daily field walks and tower climbs to proactively identify and manage site safety risks.
- Provide safety coaching to employees, contractors, site leadership, customer representatives, and visitors.
- Become familiar with site EHS policies, procedures, technical work instructions, and the work being performed in the field.
- Partner with site leadership to ensure personnel comply with applicable policies, procedures, and technical processes.
- Escalate identified safety concerns, compliance gaps, and procedural issues to appropriate management.
- Promote a proactive, fair, reporting, and learning-focused EHS culture.
- Facilitate the completion and administration of the project EHS Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
- Facilitate daily safety meetings and weekly safety discussions relevant to the hazards employees and contractors may encounter.
- Conduct incident and event investigations and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure employees, contractors, subcontractors, and visitors receive all required site orientations.
- Perform required monthly, periodic, and annual audits and inspections.
- Confirm contractors are approved to perform their assigned scope of work and that their activities have been appropriately reviewed and risk assessed before work begins.
- Assess workplace environments, equipment, and work practices for compliance and potential hazards.
- Develop and implement risk-reduction strategies and emergency response procedures.
- Support electrical safety, energy isolation, lockout/tagout, fall protection, rescue, crane, rigging, lifting, mobile equipment, trenching, and excavation programs.
- Organize, conduct, and support training programs related to site safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
