IU Health Ball Memorial is hiring a Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Surgery practice at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN
!

• Full Time - Days
• Mon-Fri 8am-5pm - Will rotate weekends
  • Saturday and Sunday - Hospital Rounding if on call
  • 1 in 3 Call Rotation (7 days on call, 14 days off but still required to be 's take emergency night call for surgery. MD's responsible for overnight patient calls. PA required to come to hospital if an emergency comes in which requires surgery.)
• 50% Inpatient
• 50% Outpatient

• Treat and manage cardiac/thoracic related disease in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeon.
• First Assist in OR with surgeons, treat bedside (pulling chest tubes, removing pacing wires and sometimes implement CSU-ALS protocol)
• PA's will see post hospital follow ups, post-surgical follow ups as well as evaluate and treat hospital consults in collaboration with the surgeons

• OR First Assist
• Vein harvesting
• Sternal Closure
• Radial Artery Harvesting
• Chest Tube Placement/Removal and other Bedside procedures
• Angina, AVS, Carotid Artery Disease, Esophageal Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Vascular Access

• Master's degree required
• PA Certification required
• 3+ years of surgical APP experience preferred
  • Surgical cardiology and/or CV surgery experience preferred
  • New Grads may be considered with interest in cardiac and/or thoracic surgery
• First assistant skills in the OR required
