The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part‑time instructors to teach courses in Foundations or Studio Art. Successful candidates may teach between one and three sections on campus in Muncie, Indiana. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered. All instructors are expected to communicate regularly with students, provide meaningful and timely assessments, post course information on Canvas, and submit grades and reports on time.
WhatYou'll Do
Teach undergraduate courses in the Foundations (2D, 3D, 4D, or Drawing) and/or Studio Art program (drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, metals & jewelry, sculpture, photography, video and new media), and/or other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Responsibilities- Teach between one and three undergraduate courses.
- Master’s degree in art, design, or a related discipline by time of appointment.
- MFA degree in art, design, or a related discipline by time of appointment.
- Engagement with contemporary art practices as an educator, artist, designer, and/or illustrator.
- One year of teaching experience at the college level.
