As a key student‑facing leader, the Assistant Director supports initiatives that enhance student engagement, belonging, and success. Working in partnership with the Director, they oversee mentorship programs, coordinate campus‑wide educational activities, and serve as a primary resource for student support, leadership development, and student organization advising.

• Represent the Center at events and during campus orientation activities.
• Coordinate and oversee mentorship programs for first‑year student transition.
• Plan and coordinate departmental programs and events.
• Develop office publications and publicity materials.
• Supervise graduate assistants.
• Collect and compile data on office activities for reporting.
• Serve as a resource and referral agent for students with personal or academic concerns.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other campus and academic departments to align programs with the university’s Strategic Plan.
• Support the Director in developing retention strategies for students.
• Develop and implement award and recognition activities.
• Provide guidance, counsel, and advisement to students and student organizations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in higher education with student support and success.
• Evidence of skills in programming, organization, communication, advising, and program development.

• Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related fields.
• At least one year of graduate assistantship or professional experience in higher education student affairs administration.
• Experience working with college students and student organizations.
• Experience with intervention strategies for student success.
