About this opportunityThe Department of Special Education welcomes applications for a full-time contract faculty position beginning the Fall semester 2026. This is a one-year non-renewable contract for the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
What you'll do and what you will bringDuties and Responsibilities:
- Teach in-person undergraduate courses in Special Education
- Participate in departmental and program area faculty meetings; serve on department, college, or university committees
- Maintain office hours during the week
- Collaborate with other faculty in Special Education as appropriate
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the department chair and/or program manager(s).
Minimum Qualifications:
- MA with P-12 teaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices including instruction for students with disabilities, IEP processes, and inclusive practices
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active licensure in special education related discipline
- Ph.D. in Special Education
- Experience teaching at a college or university level (specifically online format)
