Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Responsibilities- Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Works with students to remove barriers to retention and completion of the program.
- Develops and maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, demonstrating active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students in their learning.
- Interacts with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with college policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.

Minimum Qualifications- Qualified faculty member teaching Surgical Technology courses meets the Surgical Technology program standard or the course standard, whichever standard applies to the specific course.
- Qualified faculty member teaching SURG
112 (lab course) meets the course standard through either the Surgical Technology Program Faculty/Instructor Standard or greater, or possesses an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution and holds a credential in the field of surgical technology through a nationally accredited certification program (NCCA), with a minimum total of two years of experience in the operating room scrub role, as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past five years.
- College‑level teaching experience.
- BLS CPR certification.
