Job Description
The Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning. This hands‑on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives. This position will require you to work on‑site at the Lapel, IN plant.
Responsibilities- Train and monitor work accuracy of Payroll/HR responsibilities with managers
- Maintain and reconcile all hourly payroll files and data for the plant, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements
- Process weekly plant hourly payroll, including balancing general ledger interfaces and preparing regular and special payroll reports
- Assist in the administration of employee benefit and compensation programs and other HR company initiatives as required
- Partner with Plant HR Manager for disability processing, relocation coordination, HR requisition and PAF process, maintaining employee files and performance plan tracking and record keeping
- Be a positive and pro‑active company and employee advocate
- Professional demeanor and ability communicate with all levels within the organization
- Have experience processing complex hourly payroll in a fast‑paced environment
- Be able to assist in the execution of labor and employee relations activities that drive productivity and efficiency.
- Be able to assist with grievance administration
This position will report directly to the Plant HR Manager.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources is preferred
- Must have experience in payroll administration in a fast‑paced environment, ideally within manufacturing
- Prefer someone with previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment with modern HR processes
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of Ceridian Day Force and SAP are a plus
Salary Range:
The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible 12% short‑term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
