The Townsend Company is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Muncie, Indiana. In this role, you'll help guide new hires, rehires, and employees returning from layoff through the onboarding process, making sure they have the information, support, and documentation needed to successfully begin work.

- Manage onboarding activities for assigned new hires, rehires, and employees returning from layoff.
- Guide employees through online onboarding requirements and provide clear, patient assistance when questions arise.
- Help employees who may have limited experience with technology successfully navigate the online onboarding process.
- Monitor onboarding progress and proactively follow up on incomplete or outstanding requirements.
- Help ensure employees are ready for their anticipated start dates.
- Enter, review, and maintain onboarding information within the Company's HRIS and other applicable systems.
- Review onboarding forms and employment documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Support Form I-9, E-Verify, employment authorization, and other required employment documentation.
- Identify missing information or discrepancies and work with the appropriate team members to resolve issues.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Communicate regularly with field leadership, hiring managers, Payroll, and other internal partners regarding onboarding status and outstanding requirements.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for employees throughout the onboarding process.
- Support a high-volume, multi-location workforce while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Provide professional and responsive service to employees and operational leaders.
- Identify opportunities to make onboarding processes more efficient and employee-friendly.
- Assist with new onboarding systems, procedures, tools, and workflow improvements.
- Support onboarding associated with acquisitions, organizational integrations, and high-volume hiring initiatives.
- Assist with special projects and other onboarding needs as the organization continues to grow.
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two or more years of experience in employee onboarding, HR operations, HR administration, or a related function preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
