Overview
Maintenance Manager position responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all maintenance, repair, and service activities for the plant's manufacturing equipment, buildings, and facilities. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and personnel practices, and supports production effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Manage the maintenance department to ensure maximum utilization of technicians and department personnel
- Ensure equipment is maintained to comply with environmental, health and safety requirements
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance personnel in manufacturing plant areas
- Ensure that equipment is performing effectively and efficiently
- Provide leadership and technical resources toward the implementation of Lean Manufacturing
- Interface with outside service providers and contractors to secure bids for goods and services
- Track and control the department RME budget
- Manage systems and foster an environment of continuous improvement to maximize operational availability
- Engage the department to follow health and safety practices relevant to the department and facility to drive a strong safety culture and continuously reduce injury rates
- Participate in training and development programs including environmental, health and safety, and handling hazardous materials
- Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals
- Post high school education such as technical school combined with 8 years of industrial maintenance experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field and three years of related experience (preferred)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, and electrical and mechanical equipment
- Excellent computer skills to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and MEP
- Proven technical aptitude for electrical and mechanical equipment
- Understanding of industrial maintenance systems
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Able to handle multiple tasks and create a sense of urgency for completion of tasks
- Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MEP
- Proficiency with budgeting, continuous improvement / Lean management, and performance management
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of environmental regulations as they pertain to this facility
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to this facility
- Able to work all shifts
- Able to follow all environmental, health and safety procedures
This role is located at the Muncie, IN manufacturing site. The facility operates 24/7 and the Maintenance Manager must be available in case of emergency as a member of the Leadership Team.
To perform essential job functions, the position requires physical activities including lifting and carrying items in excess of 50 lbs., mobility in ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding, and regular sitting, standing, kneeling, crawling, and stooping. Regular attendance, instruction-following, and effective communication are essential.
Travel- Travel as required to meet business needs.
