Your shift, pay, and perks
Schedule:
2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm); mandatory weekly overtime
Starting pay: $20+ (based on shift and experience)2nd Shift Rate: $19.00/hr + $1.00 shift differential ($20.00/hr)

You arrive at your electrical compartment build station, open the latest blueprint set and wiring schematics, and stage the day’s components. From there, you:
Install large components and sub-assemblies into electrical compartments
Route loose wires and cables to the correct components
Terminate and secure cables throughout the compartment
Follow process sheets and quality gate requirements, verifying gauge calibration and applying torque to engineering standards
Support Quality by helping resolve any non-conforming issues
Keep your area organized and clean to 5S expectations
As you advance, you will also Install wire harnesses and/or loose wires to panel assemblies and make precise terminations at the appropriate electrical components
Construct plug assemblies and complete terminations per plug charts
Create wire harnesses from process drawings by applying wires and cables to spec Train others and share best practices
What you bring
Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (heavy industrial preferred)
Ability to read a tape measure
Hands-on experience with hand tools
Familiarity with blueprints and wiring/wire schematics (preferred)
Student mentality and willingness to learn
Forklift and/or crane experience (preferred)
Basic PC/data entry skills
Comfort working in a manufacturing setting using industrial equipment, heavy structural assembly methods, and a variety of hand/power tools and measuring devices
Physical and environmental realities
Strength: lift and carry up to 50 lbs; push/pull up to 75 lbs Motion: constant walking; frequent and sustained bending, crouching, stopping, kneeing, squatting; overhead reaching; climbing ladders
Vision/Hearing: follow written and verbal instructions; hear audible alarms
Work Environment: varied surfaces (concrete, gravel, rail car and locomotive floors); heights from floor level to tops of locomotives; confined spaces; non-temperature-controlled areas; all weather conditions; high noise and dust Emotional Demands: comfortable working alone
Safety: this is a safety-sensitive position working around active tracks, rail cars, locomotives, and moving equipment; strict adherence to safety protocols, health/medical screenings, and required PPE is essential
