Firefly Children & Family Alliance is looking for a part-time Community Navigator in Muncie, IN. As a Community Navigator you will focus on bringing inclusive events, activities, and information to our Family Resource Centers. You are the first person a family will see when they arrive at our Family Resource Center.
This position works approximately 29 hours per week at the Delaware County Family Resource Center in Muncie, IN and requires availability during all open hours. The center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
ResponsibilitiesCase Management (70%)
- Communicate with families that arrive at the FRC for service and assistance.
- Collaborate with community members to assist families.
- Oversee and connect families to resources, and providing informal support.
- Know community resources and connecting families to these resources.
Community Engagement and Outreach (30%)
- Identify and maintain knowledge of resources in the community that provide family support and recreational activities.
- Represent the agency when promoting CPCS/SIF at events, meetings, and other outreach activities.
- Coordinate and attend events for the community with an emphasis on preventing child abuse and neglect. This could include events held on evenings and weekends.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license.
- Two years' experience working directly with families in a human service field.
- Experience in child development.
- Understanding of and ability to work with the community.
- Motivated to ensure work quality meets established guidelines.
- Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.
- Demonstrate appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.
