Compensation: $50,000 - 55,000

About this opportunity: The College of Sciences and Humanities welcomes applications for Program Manager of our new Humanities in Action Program. Humanities in Action provides paid internships at nonprofit organizations for humanities majors, and the Program Manager will play an integral role in the program's success.
What you'll do and what you'll bringPosition Summary
The Program Manager for the Humanities in Action Program will play a vital role in building and sustaining a new paid internship program for humanities majors at Ball State University. This position will be responsible for identifying and facilitating internship placements, processing student applications for the program, assisting students with questions about the program, maintaining relationships with nonprofit organization partners, and providing day-to-day administrative support for the program.
The Program Manager will ensure that students and nonprofit organization partners have the resources and support needed for successful internship experiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations in collaboration with the program leads
- Provide guidance and coaching for students participating in Humanities in Action Program
- Manage the internship application process, including reviewing applications, tracking eligibility, and determining appropriate student placements
- Develop, deliver, and manage professional development programming for internship students
- Maintain accurate program records, including internship placements and student hours; evaluate for grant compliance
- Establish and maintain internship agreements with nonprofit partner organizations
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and nonprofit partner organizations to ensure clear communication, and appropriate program management and consultation
- Collaborate with program leads to develop marketing and outreach strategies to recruit students and expand nonprofit organizational partnerships
- Work with program leads as needed, such as analyzing data, developing reports, supporting program assessment, and coordinating scheduling of the internship course
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (humanities, education, nonprofit management, community development, or related discipline)
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and/or experience in the nonprofit sector
- At least two years experience in program coordination, career development, and/or student services
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and external partners
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience developing and sustaining community partnerships
- Experience working in higher education and with college students
