Urgent Care Provider - FT or PT Opportunities About ODHSOpen Door Health Services is a not-for-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center. We provide comprehensive primary, urgent, and preventive healthcare services, as well as select specialty services and social support programs. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health providers, and staff offer friendly, expert care for individuals and families throughout East Central Indiana--with or without insurance. Ability to pay is not a barrier to care.
Services are offered at multiple locations in Muncie and Anderson.
- Open Door is recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home. We have provided services in our region since 1974, and consistently partner with other nonprofits to support the improvement of our great community.
We are seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Provider (MD/DO/NP/PA) to support our Urgent Care team.
- This flexible, position is ideal for providers who enjoy a dynamic environment.
- Work only part time from 24 to 29 hours per week.
- Or Work fulltime 30 to 36 hours per week to receive full benefits.
- Weekend schedule is required including Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Applicant must be available to work most Saturdays.
- Urgent care is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 8 pm , Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.

- We are flexible but weekends are required.
As a Provider you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. Providers will provide primary care/urgent care to patients acting as a physician or physician extender in the clinic following established standards, practices, and protocols.

- Utilizes Open Door Health Services Core Values when interacting with patients, families and co-workers.
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance including privacy of protected health information.
- Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
- Performs a complete physical exam and assessment and record finding.
- Make independent provider judgements, collaborating with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients, as appropriate.
- Remains current in advanced practice changes within specialized areas, and where relevant, translate these findings into clinical practice.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnostic and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Per licensing guidelines, administers medications and injections according to physicians’ direction and protocols.
- Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.

- Maintains and reviews patients’ records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and reports tests and examination results.
- Interviews and advises patients regarding health maintenance, illness prevention, normal behavior, social and physical growth and development.
- Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Provides telephone consultation, follow-up phone calls, and triage patient telephone calls.
- Provides monitoring and continuity care between Clinic visits.
- Demonstrates ongoing professional growth through participation in relevant educational endeavors and appropriate associations.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in health care.
- Performs related work as required, and other duties as assigned by Chief Medical Officer or CEO.
- Graduate of an accredited program required.
- Successful completion of approved program, testing, and certification.
- Three years of professional experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Possession of:
- Indiana State Physician Assistant license or
- Indiana State Nurse Practitioner Authorization license or
- Unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.
- DEA certification.
- CSR registration.
- CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
