This newly remodeled, 25 private bed unit, is committed to delivering the best, high quality, compassionate care. On the Medical Stroke Unit, we use a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of nurses, physicians, patient care assistants, case managers, and secretarial support staff. Our care team specializes in the care of acutely ill medical/surgical patients, with a primary focus on patients effected by strokes.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education:
  
  The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Exceptions:
    Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
