Clinical Nurse Specialist, Infection Control, Advanced Practice Nurse/APRN
Responsibilities
- Supports management of nursing education practices, quality, risk management, and performance improvement.
- Applies current theoretical approaches to delivering nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts, and supports participation in developing and implementing strategies to improve nursing care.
- Identifies, investigates, reports, prevents, and controls healthcare‑associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel.
- Institutes collection of cultures and initiates appropriate isolation precautions under authority of the Infection Control Committee.
- Assists with in‑service programs related to infection prevention and control.
- Attends to all employee work‑related injuries and recommends appropriate action; communicates with risk manager regarding workplace trends.
- Conducts pre‑employment medical screening tests and annual recurring screens.
- Serves as liaison to the worker’s compensation carrier for the hospital.
- Develops and implements the hospital’s utilization review plan.
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Minimum of two years critical care experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability with two to four years’ experience in nursing administration.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Infection Control and Quality experience is required!
