You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

• Determine donor eligibility: conduct informed consent, provide AIDS education, manage confidential self‑exclusion, interview medical history, perform physical examination, conduct blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for unacceptable findings, donor safety, or eligibility guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; follow EHS guidance for employee incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 – $31.68 (actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, level of education, certifications, and location).
