This 18-bed unit is committed to delivering the best, high quality, compassionate care to multi‑specialty med‑surg patients. In addition, we specialize with heart failure patients and cardiac diagnoses. We ensure a partnership approach to deliver excellent care to every patient. Our nurses possess attributes of clinical expertise, a commitment to learning, a spirit of inquiry, professional engagement, and the cultivation of new relationships.
Our patient population includes cardiac diagnoses, step‑down patients, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, and a variety of other conditions. The unit is an excellent environment to build a strong nursing foundation and critical thinking while collaborating with an excellent team of nursing staff.
- ACLS required
- Caring for progressive level of care patients (step‑down from critical care)
- Patients going to cardiac procedures
- Over 6.5 years no CAUTI

- Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN);
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Education:
The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. - Exceptions:
Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). - Requires a current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
