Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring charge readiness and combined adult/pediatric ED skills.

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and isolation precautions/PPE
• RN's nursing school must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with 48 beds, flexing up to 62 beds using hall beds as needed
• Combined Adult/Pediatric ED and Pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Regular ED patient ratio never exceeds 1:4, with hold assignments up to 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds
• Averages 6.6 behavioral health patients per day
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Must be willing to work charge nurse role
• Floating required to other units within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, orthopedic, and cardiac cases
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified Center
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are not accepted as local candidates for this position
• Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility: 3 months for out-of-state residents and 6 months for in-state residents
