Cashier/Sales Associate – All shifts at Village Pantry

We are seeking a reliable Cashier/Sales Associate to work our overnight shift, typically between 10 PM and 6 AM. The ideal candidate is confident, self‑motivated, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

As an overnight Sales Associate, you will keep the store running smoothly when no other staff are present. Your responsibilities include assisting customers, operating the register, stocking shelves, cleaning premises, and ensuring the security of the store.

• Greet every customer with a smile and run the register with accuracy and speed.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales—ensuring compliance with all age verification and legal requirements.
• Offer friendly service and upsell customers when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe:
  • Deep cleaning high‑use restrooms.
  • Wiping down and sanitizing gas pumps (nozzles, screens, water buckets).
  • Picking up litter and trash from the floor and lot area.
  • Taking out the trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
  • Stocking shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise looking fresh and full.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized store—sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and maintaining entryways.
• Willingly cross‑train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and step in to help wherever needed.

• Age Requirement:
  Must be 18 years of age or older in AR, CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, and CO; 21 years or older in all other states.
• Availability:
  Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and the overnight shift (10 PM–6 AM).
• Willingness:
  Be prepared to work hard and stay on your feet most of the shift in indoor and outdoor conditions.

  Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Math Proficiency:
  Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Physical Ability:
  Capable of frequently lifting 10 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
