Summary
Imaging Engineer III installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and verifies the performance of complex and intricate medical imaging equipment in a specialty area including MRI, CT, Cath‑Labs, Radiation Oncology, and other medical imaging modalities. The position requires familiarity with all classes of clinical equipment and may involve maintenance on equipment outside the specialty area. The engineer serves as a technical advisor to medical and clinical staff in equipment specification, acquisition, and safe use, and contributes to regulatory compliance, inventory management, and mentorship of other associates.
Responsibilities- Technical Service – 40% Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex medical imaging equipment. Repair, install, and calibrate equipment and systems. Report status of repairs and inspections to supervisors. Manage subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians. Maintain Clinical Engineering expertise through ongoing training.
- Regulatory Compliance – 25% Ensure accuracy of the equipment database, including inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history. Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and regulatory agency compliances. Coordinate with Medical Physicist on radiation output alignment for patient safety. Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
- Account Relationship Management – 25% Build and maintain relationships with clinicians and customers. Discuss equipment status and functionality. Represent Tri Medx services positively and integrate core values into performance.
- Inventory – 10% Perform periodic inspections of inventory status, maintain failure parts inventory, and verify completion of security analysis for new equipment. Conduct Incoming Inspections (II) and recommend inventory improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to operate hand and foot-controlled tools and machinery (e.g., drills, saws, electronic test equipment) and compute error codes.
- Physical capability to reach, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs.
- Travel may be required. Valid driver’s license required; travel may involve use of personal vehicle.
- Two‑year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience required (waived for those with TRIMEDX Trained Certification or an equivalent biomedical certification).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology preferred.
- Complex computer skills: interpreting error codes, defragmenting drives, replacing power supplies, and analyzing computer codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) and networking applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
