Position Summary
The Industrial Forklift Operator is responsible for unloading and loading all inbound and outbound products, moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product within and throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities / Key Deliverables- Inspect forklift and handling equipment before each shift and record pre‑use checks in the system or vehicle logbook.
- Report any faults or breakdowns to the forklift lead.
- Verify delivered quantities and condition of goods, recording data accurately on the receiving form.
- Unload, stack, and distribute goods using a forklift (FLT), ensuring each pallet is secured and labeled correctly.
- Load goods onto trucks in accordance with safety regulations and forklift instructions.
- Move stock throughout the warehouse following instructions and using the SAP RFID scanning system.
- Coordinate with RF monitors to keep equipment in good working order.
- Transport materials to the production department while complying with FIFO procedures.
- Operate low‑lift pallet trucks when required (e.g., sea containers).
- Clean forklifts and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.
- Perform general housekeeping duties when forklifts are not in use.
- Select and sort packaging materials, assist with stock takes, and support CP system implementation and internal audits.
- Handle forklift gas cylinders, refuel, recharge batteries, and adhere to GMP and BRC requirements.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably related to the role.
- Engineering or Technical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years forklift experience; experience with propane, gas, or diesel forklifts preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math functions.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and eagerness to grow with the organization.
- Lift/Carry 10lbs or less (33% of time) or 11‑25lbs (66% of time).
- Push/Pull 10lbs or less (33%) or 11‑25lbs (66%).
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or bend as required.
- Manual manipulation, reach outward, and reach above shoulder.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment per safety guidelines.
Regular exposure to a hot manufacturing environment, variable temperature conditions, and the need to comply with plant safety and environmental regulations.
