Position Overview

The Parts Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Parts Warehouse by receiving, organizing, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping parts while maintaining accurate inventory records. This role works closely with internal departments, vendors, carriers, and customers to ensure parts are processed accurately, efficiently, and in a manner that supports exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and safety-conscious, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment while contributing to the overall success of the Parts Department.

Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and stock incoming inventory, transfer parts, and warehouse materials.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
  • Organize inventory within designated warehouse locations to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within company inventory management systems.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure all parts are properly identified, labeled, and stored.
Shipping & Order Fulfillment
  • Pick, pack, prepare, and ship customer and internal parts orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify order accuracy prior to shipment.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments with freight carriers and shipping providers.
  • Process customer returns, warranty items, and replacement shipments as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, shortages, and carrier issues.
  • Document all incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
Inventory Control
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and routine audits.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data by recording additions, deletions, adjustments, and location changes.
  • Assist with warehouse organization and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity.
Customer & Team Support
  • Support internal departments and external customers by fulfilling parts requests accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate order status and shipping updates to customers and internal team members.
  • Collaborate with Parts Specialists, warehouse personnel, and management to maintain efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional customer parts counter and warehouse environment.
Compliance & Safety
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, logistics, or parts operations preferred.
  • Experience in the transportation, heavy-duty truck, motorcoach, automotive, or commercial vehicle industry preferred.
  • Previous forklift operating experience required; forklift certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification in accordance with company requirements.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
