Systems Administrator, IT Project Manager
Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability of infrastructure to support IT systems including servers, storage, telecommunications, and network components. The role includes monitoring operating environments, responding to incidents and problems, and planning for growth. The Operations Manager oversees the end‑user system profile provisioning process across all platforms, managing logical and physical access, and participates in all aspects of IT project execution and day‑to‑day IT functions such as technical innovation, change control, documentation, service provider oversight, end‑user support, system requirement definition, and other operational tasks.
The position requires limited supervision; occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary for projects and support.
- Monitor and support servers, storage, telecommunications, ERP, and network systems.
- Monitor and support production floor SCADA systems and coordinate with third‑party support.
- Manage external vendors/resources to support IT infrastructure.
- Execute IT change control processes for critical system changes.
- Participate in execution of IT infrastructure procedures.
- Participate in IT project requirement definition, solution research, validation, implementation, and documentation.
- Develop and implement systems to automate IT tasks, enhance security, and prevent service interruptions.
- Provide tier‑3 (senior level) IT support for local and remote users.
- Develop and support team and staff.
- 5–10 years of experience managing servers, storage, telecommunications, and network systems.
- 3 or more years experience in SCADA manufacturing systems, MES and PLC networks.
- 3 or more years experience supporting Office 365 and Windows Defender.
- 3 or more years supporting and managing virtual servers/desktops in VMware or similar system.
- 3 or more years managing systems in a large enterprise.
- 3 or more years managing IT operations and infrastructure related teams.
- Experience supporting and developing systems for a temperature‑controlled environment.
- SQL Server data management and maintenance planning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer technology related program or equivalent experience.
- Experience successfully managing projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize support needs and delegate appropriately.
- Experience managing on‑prem, hosted, and cloud‑based systems.
- Desire to continually learn new technologies and improve skill set.
- Strong verbal, written, telephone, and public relations skills.
- Strong technical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong risk‑management mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft client and server operating systems.
- Active Directory administration (user, group, computer, group policy).
- Management of virtual machines and cloud solutions using VMware or similar system.
- Imaging and disk duplication technologies.
- Office 365 administration.
- SQL Server administration.
- Network setup and support skills related to connectivity and architecture.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT systems using internal and third‑party resources.
- Understanding of enterprise IT best practices for cybersecurity, standardization, availability, and support.
- High level understanding of promote‑to‑production environment and change control processes.
- Technical support / Help Desk tasks defined in the help ticket tracking system.
- Remain current on advances in technology.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Physical Requirements
The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office.
- Sit for extended periods at a computer.
- Stand and walk through the production floor, enduring cold temperatures (38 °F).
- Occasionally lift or move up to 40 lbs.

Salary range: $120,000 – $130,000 annually. Compensation above this range may be offered based on experience and qualifications.
