2‑2‑3, 12‑hour schedule on days (6:00 AM‑6:00 PM) or nights (6:00 PM‑6:00 AM). Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Job OverviewIn this extrusion operator role, you will set up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion machines to produce quality products for our customers.
Responsibilities- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Follow work orders, schedules, and make decisions within procedures.
- Obtain work instructions and follow prescribed procedures to set or monitor extrusion parameters such as pressure, speed, tension, heat.
- Move, position nip rollers, rewind shafts, and razor‑cut devices as required; arrange scrap recovery rolls or carts as needed.
- Operate equipment to maintain proper flow of raw and scrap film material; perform forming, cutting, and rewind operations.
- Remove completed work; make simple tolerance and/or measurement checks.
- Assist with complicated setup, machine repair or maintenance duties as instructed.
- Detect and report defective, contaminated material, unusual conditions, or faulty equipment.
- Set up extrusion lines and die‑head changes; monitor all line controls and adjust as needed; check dimensions/quality of product.
- Examine products for defects and perform quality testing; maintain production records.
- Assist with preventative maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure work is completed to standards.
- Keep area clean and equipment in good working order.
- Manufacturing experience or previous machine operating mandatory.
- Technical knowledge of extrusion preferred.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read a ruler.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Stand up to 12 hours per day on rotating day or evening shift, up to 5 days/week.
- Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be alert to avoid safety hazards.
- Must read/see up to 1/16 of an inch.
