Position: Precision Machine Operator / Fabrication Specialist
Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), Temp-to-Hire after 180 days
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour (Starting rate based on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator & Fabricator with hands-on experience using pneumatic/power hand tools, operating production machinery, and working with precise measurements. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain equipment while using manual machining and hand tools to shape, cut, and finish high-quality stone products.
Key Responsibilities- Machining & Hand Tool Fabrication: Operate power and pneumatic hand tools (angle grinders, polishers, routers, pneumatic edge profilers) to fabricate edges, sides, corner radii, angles, and sink cutouts on stone slabs.
- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, run, monitor, and adjust assigned production machinery. Perform light mechanical troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Quality Control & Precision Measurement: Inspect finished work pieces using tape measures, calipers, and visual templates to verify exact dimensions against specification sheets.
- Workflow & Material Handling: Safely handle raw and finished materials using carts, overhead cranes, or forklifts. Ensure all pieces are checked, tracked on control sheets, and returned to designated carts.
- Safety & Maintenance: Wear required PPE (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof steel-toe boots, face masks/respirators) at all times. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Experience:
- Preferred: 1+ years operating industrial machinery, CNC equipment, or manual machining tools.
- Preferred: Prior experience in stone/counter top fabrication (granite, marble, quartz), tile manufacturing, or precision woodworking/metalworking.
- Hands-on Skill: Demonstrated proficiency with pneumatic, electric, and manual power tools (grinders, saws, polishers).
- Material Handling: Experience operating a forklift or overhead crane is a plus.

Strong shop math skills, including reading a tape measure to fine fractions, using measuring templates, and tracking precision dimensions. - Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and perform work involving continuous physical exertion (standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting).
