Veterinary Assistant

The Premier Veterinary Group is now hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding team in our BRAND NEW facility in Mundelein, IL

This position is a precursor to the Veterinary Technician level. The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Assistant is to support and assist the veterinary medical staff. Provides exemplary patient and client service with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Responsibilities for this position would include but are not limited to basic record keeping, animal restraint and husbandry, administering oral medications, stocking of medical supplies, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of workspace.

• $16+ per hour, dependent on experience

You have a strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life. You can communicate effectively both written and verbally. You are reliable and have follow-through with all work-related tasks/projects. You are able to work afternoons, nights, and weekends.

• Has 1 year of experience in veterinary medicine OR completion of a veterinary assistant program
• Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise
• Can multitask, prioritize, self-motivate, work well with others and have a strong work ethic
• Able to handle/restrain, sometimes fractious animals, weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
