Job Description

Join our team as a Lab Technician to support the operations and media prep team within the QC Microbiology department. In this pivotal role, you will assist analysts in their testing responsibilities by managing inventory, ensuring smooth operations, and performing preventative maintenance in the lab.

Responsibilities

* Open the lab each morning and prepare instruments and equipment for use.

* Calibrate pH meters and balances, and clean glassware.

* Organize and prepare samples, and operate the autoclave.

* Perform preventative maintenance tasks throughout the day.

* Assist analysts with various tasks as required.

* Manage inventory by tracking down materials and running supplies.

* Receive training on different types of testing 6-8 months into the role.

* Network with various lab components such as R&D, Chemistry, Formulations, and Stability.

Essential Skills

* Experience with laboratory equipment such as pH meters and balances.

* Knowledge of preventative maintenance and cleaning glassware.

* Proficiency in sample preparation and documentation.

* Familiarity with LIMS, GMP, and quality control processes.

* Understanding of titration and inspection procedures.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Sciences, preferably in Microbiology or Biology.

* High school diploma with relevant lab skills or GMP/GLP experience may be considered.

* Exposure to autoclave or media prep is preferred.

Work Environment

Work on the 1st shift with start times around 7am, possibly earlier, and end times between 3:30-4:30pm. Expect 2-5 hours of overtime per week. The role is based in a lab/office environment at a newly expanded 74,000 square foot facility. This opportunity allows for networking with various lab groups and contributes to the Stability Group's goals. The position is a 6-12 month contract-to-hire, offering a pathway for long-term growth and promotion opportunities.

The lab is ISO certified and FDA audited, staffed by engineers, biologists, chemists, and other scientists.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mundelein, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
