Description

Provide unparalleled service to our customers, vendors, and employees by overseeing all the daily dock activities at our 18,700 square foot warehouse facility.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Exhibit organizational leadership to our English and Spanish speaking dock laborers, lead in the development and compliance of policies and procedures for inventory management, and prioritize/direct daily in-house transfers and inbound/outbound deliveries and pickups.
  • Lead, develop, train and maintain highly competent dock working professionals.
  • Maximize effectiveness of each of member of the team and recommend short-term and long-term plans with respect to improving the effectiveness of assigned functions and responsibilities. Evaluate performance and productivity of each team member.
  • Assure timely and accurate inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Assure the preparation and sign-off of all inbound and outbound paperwork is accurate.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts with selected team members.
  • Initiate communications with team members to resolve recurring process oriented issues.
  • Establish link with the sales team, distribution, warehouse team and management to share any shortages or discrepancies with outbound orders.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prep and sign-off on all inbound and outbound bill of ladings
  • Understand the WMS (Warehouse Management System) and Utilize to address inventory concerns.
  • We work every weekend whether it’s a skeleton crew for 6 hours, to Full regular days due to production running as we have customers that take daily deliveries. If its skeleton crew, we alternate between the 3 supervisors.
  • Ability to do Research by utilizing system camera, and hands on approach to address inventory concerns.
  • Ensure that all internal customer are satisfied as it has a direct impact on being able to make product for our external customers.
  • Attention to Details as we have a lot of LTL which have 2-20 line items per PO/Transfer with 1-700 cases per line. This is super critical as we have product values that range from $1 per lbs. to $50 per lbs.
  • CI Mentality to drive 5S, and problem solving sessions to address process not being followed.
  • Floor presence is 80% of the day to ensure all parts of the business are being executed. With the occasional hands on assistance with the team to get through peak periods to ensure our customers are taken care of.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position supervises 10 to 15 warehouse associates.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
  • Sound leadership experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with employees in a professional manner, including under stressful situations.
  • Accurate data entry and reporting system skills.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and organize a large volume of information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime including weekends.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements

The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires the team member to:

  • Stand for seven or more hours in a day;
  • Endure cold temperatures (less than 35 degrees) for seven or more hours in a day;
  • Handle cold and wet product throughout the day.
  • Lift boxes weighing 10 to 20 pounds several times per day. Occasionally lift 70 pound boxes.
  • Visually identify product.
  • Able to see at a distance for driving, able to hear bells and horns for anticipating oncoming forklift traffic.
  • May work in aisles or narrow passageways.

Kilcoy has adopted the SQF System for food safety management and is under continuous USDA meat & poultry jurisdiction.
