Zero Fossil is a Sustainable Energy Company with headquarters in Munhall. We design and manufacture solar generators used in event production for the public. We are a tight-knit team in a growing industry with strong projected growth. Our motto is ‘Turning Sunshine into Song & Dance’. We are searching for highly motivated, self-driven, enthusiastic interns to join our team.
Intern Possesses:- environmentally driven with an interest in sustainability
- self- motivated, but also works well with teammates
- willing to work events when needed
- Must have transportation to/from the Zero Fossil Headquarters
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Occasional Travel (out of town events as needed)
- Knowledge of power distribution is a plus
- Solar and battery knowledge is a plus
- Development of temp sustainable mini grids is a plus
- Unload and set up equipment including power distribution, lights, sound equipment, educational interactives, stages, tents, tables, chairs, etc..
- Monitor equipment during the event. Take photos and videos that can be used for marketing purposes.
- Engage with and educate event attendees and answer their questions about sustainable energy generation, biodiesel generators and solar power.
- Technicians may also be asked to represent Zero Fossil at the event marketing booth or to run educational interactive stations.
- Help the team troubleshoot mechanical, technical, or other issues that arise during the event.
- At the end of the event, retrieve all equipment and remaining supplies ensuring the count matches what was brought to the site.
- Experience with live sound reinforcement/ audio mixing
- Staging and live performance production
- Experience driving standard transmission vehicles, oversized vehicles and/or vehicles with a trailer.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, especially solar and biofuel (training provided)
- Experience/ interest working with the public & educational outreach
- Experience with photography and social media
Interns will have additional opportunities to be involved in research, development, and manufacturing in next-generation power technologies dependent on skill set and aptitude. On‑job training is available.
Start dates may be flexible based on applicants' schedules. Additional opportunities to be involved in day‑to‑day business operations and projects available depending upon applicant's abilities and interests. Advancement opportunities based on aptitude. We are also happy to work with students who wish to use Zero Fossil as an internship site.
Starting rate ranges from $15-25/hour, range for higher pay commensurate upon experience. Please send a resume, 2 references, and compensation requirements
