DCA is seeking a knowledgeable, motivational, and proactive Dental Hygiene Coach to join our team in our Illinois Region supporting the 13 local offices in Bloomington, New Lenox, Evanston, East Village Chicago, Munster IN, Crown Point, Dunlap, South Bend, Goshen and Peoria. The Dental Hygiene Coach will be responsible for training and supporting dental hygienists, helping them optimize patient care, refine their techniques, and enhance their professional skills.

This role combines clinical expertise, coaching, and ongoing development to ensure that our dental teams deliver consistent patient care and maintain the highest standards of practice.

Responsibilities Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to dental hygienists on patient care, technique, and professional best practices through chairside one-on-one sessions and group training.
  • Develop individualized plans to enhance clinical skills and address performance gaps.
  • Offer constructive feedback, guidance and support to build confidence and improve the quality of care provided.
  • Enforce training programs for the latest dental hygiene techniques, tools, and patient management systems including, but not limited to Guided Biofilm Therapy, Denticon, Curodont, Overjet AI, Oral  Biolase Laser.
  • Stay current on the latest dental care protocols and procedures to ensure training materials are up-to-date.
  • Assist dental hygienists in improving patient communication, education and care techniques.
  • Promote the important of preventive care and encourage best practices in patient interaction and education while monitoring and evaluating patient outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to assess the success of coaching efforts and report progress to the management team.
  • Analyze trends in patient care outcomes to identify and address any consistent challenges or need and prepare progress reports on coaching activities and results.
Qualifications
  • Active, state-issued Dental Hygiene license with a minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of prior experience in coaching, mentoring, or training within a dental practice or similar healthcare setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, tools and patient care protocols.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and foster professional growth tactfully.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and track effective training programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

This role is performed within a professional environment and regularly uses standard office equipment and dental tools.
