The Person al Banker 1 is a full-time, on-site role based in Munster, IN, focused on delivering high-quality customer service and financial solutions in a branch environment. This role assists customers with everyday banking needs, including opening and managing accounts, processing transactions, and answering questions about products and services. The Person al Banker 1 identifies customer goals, recommends appropriate banking, lending, and investment solutions, and refers customers to specialists when needed.
Day-to-day responsibilities include handling deposits and withdrawals, maintaining accurate records, following compliance and security procedures, and contributing to individual and branch sales goals. The role also involves proactively reaching out to customers, participating in community and branch initiatives, and supporting a positive, inclusive team environment.
- Customer service and relationship-building skills to engage with diverse customers, understand their financial needs, and provide tailored solutions.
- Sales and referral skills to promote banking products, meet branch goals, and identify opportunities for cross‑selling and referring to other specialists.
- Cash handling, accuracy, and basic math skills to process transactions, balance cash drawers, and maintain precise records.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to explain financial products in accessible terms.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to resolve customer issues, assess risks, and follow regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Digital and technical skills to use branch systems, online banking tools, and standard office applications efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
- Prior experience in banking, retail, or customer‑facing roles preferred, with familiarity in financial products and basic lending concepts.
- Ability to work on‑site full time in Munster, IN, including flexibility for branch operating hours.
