Seafood Clerk

Strack & Van Til is seeking a friendly Seafood Clerk to join our neighborhood-focused supermarket team. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service at the seafood counter by greeting shoppers, answering product questions, and offering preparation and cooking suggestions. You will safely handle, clean, portion, and package fresh and frozen seafood, maintain proper rotation, and ensure displays are attractive and fully stocked.

Responsibilities include following food safety and sanitation standards, operating scales and wrapping equipment, monitoring case temperatures, and supporting overall store operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide knowledgeable, friendly service at the seafood counter
• Answer product questions and offer preparation and cooking suggestions
• Clean, cut, portion, wrap, and label fresh and frozen seafood items
• Stock and rotate seafood products, maintaining attractive, full displays
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
• Operate scales, wrapping, and labeling equipment accurately and safely
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and case temperatures throughout shifts
• Maintain a clean work area, equipment, and display cases
• Assist with inventory, backroom organization, and product receiving
• Support overall store operations and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment
