Are you a technically strong accounting leader looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? This newly created Controller position offers the chance to help shape the future of the accounting function for a well‑established healthcare organization in Middle Tennessee. You'll take ownership of the accounting function while helping modernize processes, strengthen internal controls, and build scalable systems that will support the organization's continued growth.
WhatYou'll Do
- Lead the day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, month‑end close, AP, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Oversee the annual audit and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved controls.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting support, and financial analysis.
- Lead and mentor an established accounting team while helping build a best‑in‑class accounting function.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong technical accounting and GAAP knowledge.
- CPA and public accounting experience are preferred but not required.
- Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
- Someone who enjoys improving processes, building structure, and taking ownership rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
