Soni's client is seeking an experienced I-9 Verification Specialist to support a company-wide compliance audit following a recent system transition. This individual will step into a highly detailed, fast-paced project focused on reviewing employee records, identifying missing or incomplete I-9 documentation, and tracking compliance status through extensive Excel reporting.
This is not an entry-level administrative role. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience working with I-9 documentation, document audits, file cleanup projects, and high-volume record tracking. Success in this role requires someone who is exceptionally organized, highly detail-oriented, and extremely comfortable working in Excel for the majority of the day.
Responsibilities- Conduct detailed audits of employee I-9 documentation and supporting records to identify missing, incomplete, or non-compliant files.
- Utilize and maintain complex Excel trackers to monitor audit progress, document status, and outstanding compliance items.
- Navigate internal systems, shared drives, and employee files to locate and verify required documentation.
- Review and validate I-9 records for accuracy and completion while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Organize, track, and manage large volumes of employee documentation with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through.
- Support compliance efforts related to Hire Right and E-Verify processes.
- Partner with internal teams to communicate documentation gaps and ensure audit completion timelines are met.
- Prior hands-on experience processing, reviewing, or auditing I-9 documentation is required.
- Strong experience with document audits, records management, file cleanup projects, or compliance-related administrative work.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manage trackers, organize large datasets, and maintain accurate reporting.
- Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism and experience handling confidential employee records.
- Experience with Hire Right and/or E-Verify is preferred but can be learned by someone with strong I-9 experience.
$20 - $25/ Hour
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
