Job Title
Coordinator - BERC (80% Position)

Salary$39,136 - $48,201; commensurate with experience (80% position)
Job Summary / Basic FunctionOversee the day-to-day operations of the Business and Economic Research Center (BERC). Key responsibilities include managing outreach services and internal operations in alignment with the center’s strategic plan and mission.
- Social Media and Website Management:
Maintain, manage, and moderate BERC's social media accounts and websites. - Content Creation and Review:
Edit, review, and design BERC-related materials; create correspondence, social media posts, documents, and presentations. - External Communications:
Maintain relationships with clients and community members; plan and implement events with community partners. - Student Coordination:
Schedule and coordinate graduate and undergraduate student researchers; initiate hiring paperwork; verify timesheet accuracy; act as the supervisor’s proxy in the web time entry system; problem‑solve with staff and students to ensure deadlines are met. - Financial Management:
Review, monitor, and audit BERC grant/contract and department budgets; manage daily financial operations, including travel arrangements and claims, requisitions, payment authorizations, and budget revisions. - Research Administration:
Administer surveys, design reports, and monitor contracts for internal and external research projects. - Liaison Duties:
Act as BERC liaison to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP); notify ORSP of labor distribution percentage changes for contracts/grants or BERC indexes and when deliverables are met. - Executive Education Program:
Coordinate and plan activities associated with BERC initiatives for the Executive Education program. - Journal Initiatives:
Actively participate in the planning, designing, editing, publication, and distribution stages of new BEC journal initiatives, such as The Journal of Urban and Regional Perspectives. - Director Support:
Organize activities associated with the BERC director’s other official engagements, including but not limited to the Chair of Excellence in Urban and Regional Planning. - Additional Tasks:
Perform other tasks as assigned by the center director.
Note:
30 hour/week 80% position.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Required Related ExperienceTwo (2) years of work experience in an administrative support role to a Director-level administrator or above.
Desirable Related ExperienceGrant management experience preferred.
