Postal Clerk 3 - Mail Operator

$36,847 - $44,954; commensurate with experience

Operate large meter machine to process university mail, as well as the Pitney Bowes and Smart Parcel package machines, charging correct departments. Maintain Business Manager (or other) program to run reports, add and delete accounts and make corrections. Assist with daily processing of incoming mail. Process passport applications for MTSU community. Maintain department of state certification. Serve as backup to clerk/carrier to deliver mail to administrative offices and perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Two years experience in mail handling/distribution, clerical, and/or customer service required. Successful completion of 90% or greater of the passport acceptance test through the US Department of State training within probationary period.

Valid driver's license required.

Experience working in a post office or postal contract station preferred. Experience with passport acceptance preferred.
